Terms of Service

Last updated: October 7, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and the individual operator of Vocado, based in the Republic of Korea ("we", "us"). They apply when you use the Vocado website at voca.do and beta.voca.do (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. The Service

Vocado helps you learn Korean through K-pop lyrics. You can read the Korean lyrics of songs we are allowed to show, see their romanization, translations and word meanings where available, save words, review them, and watch the song's video where that is allowed.

The Service is in a private beta. It is free during the beta, and we don't ask for payment details. Features, songs and availability may change, and things may break. If we ever introduce paid features, we will tell you in advance, and you won't be charged without agreeing first.

2. Who can use it

  • You must be 14 or older.
  • During the private beta, you need an invitation. Joining the waitlist doesn't guarantee one; we invite people in batches.
  • You sign in with the Google account (or email address) we invited. Keep access to it secure, and tell us at contact@voca.do if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

3. Lyrics and content

  • Lyrics, translations and related information belong to their songwriters, music publishers and other rights holders, and are shown under licenses, including from Musixmatch. Which lyrics we can show may differ by song and by country.
  • Vocado's own explanations, word lists, design and software belong to us.
  • You may use the Service only for your own, non-commercial study. You may not copy, download, collect, republish or share lyrics or other content from the Service, except where the law allows it.
  • Translations, romanizations and word meanings are learning aids. We work to make them accurate, but they may contain mistakes.

4. YouTube and other services

Song videos play through YouTube, only after you agree to it on the song page. When you use YouTube features, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. If you connect Last.fm, Last.fm's terms apply to your Last.fm account. We aren't responsible for other companies' services, and Vocado isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the artists, labels or services named in it.

5. Things you must not do

  • Use someone else's account or personal information, or share your account.
  • Scrape, crawl or automatically collect content from the Service, or try to get around limits on access.
  • Interfere with the Service, its security, or other people's use of it, or try to access data that isn't yours.
  • Use the Service, or anything from it, for commercial purposes without our written permission.
  • Send requests or reports that are unlawful, abusive, or infringe someone else's rights.
  • Break any law that applies to you.

6. What you send us

When you send us song requests, problem reports, suggested videos or feedback, you allow us to use them to run and improve the Service, without paying you. You confirm that you have the right to send them. We don't claim ownership of them.

7. Your privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect and how we use it.

8. Changes, suspension and ending

  • We may change, pause or stop all or part of the Service, for example for maintenance, because the beta ends, or because a license changes. Where we can, we tell you beforehand.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where it is reasonable, we tell you why first and give you a chance to respond.
  • You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account at contact@voca.do or through the option to delete your account in Settings.

9. Disclaimers and liability

  • The Service is a free beta provided "as is". We don't promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or that any particular song will stay available.
  • We aren't responsible for problems caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, outages at telecommunications or hosting providers, or other services we rely on.
  • We aren't responsible for problems caused by your own fault, or by your breaking these terms.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our liability for harm we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, or any rights you have that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date and tell you in the Service or by email at least 7 days before it takes effect, or at least 30 days before for changes that are unfavorable to you. If you keep using the Service after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any dispute together. If we can't, the Seoul Central District Court has jurisdiction over the first instance, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring the case elsewhere.
